Three Dog Night
Old guys rule – on stage, plus those in the audience feeling like they’re 21 again. Three Dog Night’s concert at Lake Mission Viejo on Saturday showed that the 1970s rockers are a little grayer and wider, but they still have it.
A middle-aged audience member commented, “I was seven years old when I first heard them sing ‘Joy to the World.’ I didn’t know anything about the band, but I loved frogs. They’ve been my favorite band ever since.”
The same musicians are still together from the original group, including singers Cory Wells, Danny Hutton, Jimmy Greenspoon and Michael Allsup. They pleased the crowd by playing their Top 40 hits, including “One Man Band,” “One,” “Celebrate,” and “An Old Fashioned Love Song,” plus a few new ones. The L.A.-based band is still touring, selling out concerts and making people happy.
The next concert on the lake will be on Sat., Aug. 4, 7:00 p.m., with Hunter Hayes.
