Look Who's Talking
Letter to the Editor

The mailboxes of Mission Viejo voters are being stuffed with costly brochures against Measure D. Has everyone noticed who is recommending "No" on this measure?

Look at the return address, and you will see a Realtors Political Action Committee. Are these folks putting their financial gain ahead of our residents' wish to keep The California Promise and preserve our Master Planned community? Roger Faubel is recommending "No" on D, and he's the PR agent for Sunrise, the developer who wanted to build an assisted living facility on the Casta del Sol Golf Course.

The pricey advertising has exposed the opposition as wanting endless homebuilding, including more affordable housing near the hospital and converting closed schools to apartments.

I am voting YES on Measure D because I want to protect our property values and quality of life. Approving Measure D will also cut off the developers who donate thousands of dollars to council members' re-election campaigns.
